A definitive specialty of Fredi Mathys is the construction of heat storing fireplaces. The outer mantle consists of a finely plastered heat storing surface. The window made from steel and ceramic glass is fitted individually and constructed according to measure. The inner part, the heart of the heat storing fireplace, Fredi Mathys constructs of high quality firebricks. There, the heat of the fire is gathered and, as in a stove, is stored. Even after the embers have long gone out, the heat storing fireplace still radiates cosy warmth for over approx. 24 hours.

A fireplace built by Fredi Mathys is an individually constructed, technically as well as optically high quality product and is not to be compared with conventional fireplaces elements.
